March is NATIONAL WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH and March 8th is International Women’s Day.
Since its inception, Sharpe Interior Systems, Inc. has had a vision for creating a successful business platform that provides growth and opportunity for all employees to succeed. After 46 years, this mission still holds today. This is why we recognize and celebrate women’s history month and March 8th International Women’s Day. Admittedly, inclusive hiring was not at the forefront in the early days. The industry was male-dominated due to the physical nature of construction, bias, and stigmas. For these reasons, many women never considered working in construction, and companies were not actively focused on the benefits of hiring women in construction. In retrospect, we can reflect on how our business and industry have evolved by understanding how talent diversity is the best choice for success. Creating an environment with a variety of perspectives, especially for women in construction, has enriched our industry. At Sharpe, we recognize there is still much work to be done, so we continue to recommit our efforts through inclusive hiring, training, and mentoring the women of Sharpe. Additionally, we continue to support organizations focused on the advancement of women.
