Sharpe receives two ENR Best Projects Awards
On Tuesday, October 15th, Engineering News-Record hosted the 2024 ENR Regional Best Projects Awards at the Omni Hotel in DTLA. Following several weeks of diligent evaluation, an independent panel of AEC experts reviewed 90 projects from California and Hawaii, ultimately recognizing 15 as Best Projects and 15 with Awards of Merit in the Southern California region.
Projects were assessed based on the project team’s ability to navigate challenges, their impact on the industry and community, as well as safety and quality of construction and design. Awards were presented across various categories, including California Regional Projects, Safety & Sustainability, Design Firm of the Year, Contractor of the Year, and more.
The event commenced at 8 AM with networking, followed by breakfast, an awards presentation, and a photography session with the winners. Sponsors of the event included Procore, Austin Commercial, and Hensel Phelps. Clune Construction hosted a table at the event, inviting Fayez Zorob and Jack Johnson.
We are proud to announce that two Sharpe projects received accolades:
-
Best Interior/Tenant Improvement: Lincoln International, Los Angeles (Submitted by Clune Construction). Located on the 66th and 67th floors of the 72-story US Bank Tower in DTLA, Sharpe installed over 55,000 square-feet of drywall in this 30,000 square-foot office. The design adheres to Lincoln International’s standard approach to finishes, function and feel, ensuring consistency in brand identity.
-
Best Office/Retail/Mixed-Use, Award of Merit: 843 North Spring Street, Los Angeles (Submitted by Shawmut Design and Construction). This project provides 145,000 square-feet of flexible office, restaurant and retail space distinguished by a showcase of exposed Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) panels. It is on a sloped site in a dense urban setting, and centers around a voluminous tiered vertical garden that begins at the public plaza level and is accessible from every floor.
This year’s winning projects will be featured in detail in the October print issue of ENR California.
Congratulations to all this year’s winners!
